During the pre-op visit, Dr. Bermudez reviewed the rhinoplasty procedure and answered a few remaining questions. His nurse gave me tips on how to prepare things for recovery at home. I was given pre and post-operative prescriptions. Lab work was performed to make sure everything was fine. With my pre-op visit complete and I my surgery just around the corner, I was starting to get nervous… Not to mention excited.
Surgery day arrived! I knew I was in great hands and the staff made me feel very comfortable and at ease. The last thing I remember before undergoing my surgery was feeling warm and fuzzy as I drifted off to sleep. When I awoke in the recovery room I felt warm and drowsy. I had splints and packing inside my nose, and a cast on my nose. I had some swelling and a bit of bruising, but surprisingly it wasn’t as bad as I had anticipated.
The next couple of days were spent relaxing and resting. The packing came out, then the splints and cast. My bruising subsided slowly and I began to see a new me in the mirror.
Over a few short months, once the swelling subsided, my new nose appeared. It was straighter than my old nose and the tip had a lovely shape to it…
Gone was the crooked nose with the bump and hooked tip. It was replaced with a slimmer, straighter and smaller nose that suited my face. I couldn’t stop looking at my profile and I couldn’t stop taking selfies.
The best part. I could breathe, I could smell, and the headaches have dramatically decreased.
I have gained so much confidence since my surgery. My only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner!
My best advice for anyone considering nose reshaping surgery is to have a consultation with a skilled, reputable plastic surgeon such as Dr. Bermudez. Don’t just put it off. My Rhinoplasty was one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself.
