Sally Sherrard, PA-C
I am a nationally certified Physician Assistant specializing in dermatology and plastic surgery. I earned my Master’s of Medical Science degree from Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. I also hold a Master’s degree in Secondary Education and a Bachelor’s of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia. Before becoming a PA and moving to San Francisco in 2016, I worked as a high school teacher on the southside of Chicago teaching Anatomy and Physiology and also worked as an anesthesia technician at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. I am thrilled to be working along side Dr. Bermudez to treat patients with any general or cosmetic dermatology related concerns.
The reason I love doing what I do:
I love the educational aspect of medicine. Since I used to be a teacher, I often find myself breaking down a medical concept in the simplest way to educate my patients. I want my patients to walk out of our office confident in my decision for treatment and to understand that it was based on their specific goals and needs.
If I wasn't doing this for work, I would:
If I was not a PA, I would be a gemologist. I follow many jewelers on instagram and enjoy learning about precious stones. It would be fun to design custom pieces that are meaningful, unique and gorgeous.
My favorite travel spot is:
I absolutely loved traveling to Barcelona. My husband and I went there on our honeymoon. After living in Chicago and learning about urban architecture, I valued seeing all of Gaudi’s masterpieces around the city. My favorite tapas restaurant in the whole world is also in Barcelona and the sangria is delicious!
My little escape in the Bay Area is:
I exercise daily and my favorite fitness class is Barry’s Bootcamp. One of the reasons I love the Bay Area is because of the weather and I am constantly outdoors. I’ll go hiking in Marin or wine tasting in Napa to escape the buzz of the city. I also volunteer at the SPCA – socializing with kittens is a good way to relax!
What I like best about our patients is:
I love how comfortable everyone feels when they are in our office. It is not unusual to be greeted with a hug from our staff. We truly care about each one of our patients and want you to feel like you are part of the family.
