Is Summer Too Late for Lipo? 4 Reasons It’s Not!

liposuction

With summer starting, you may wonder if you still have time to get that toned body in time to show off at the beach—or if you’ll have to wait until next summer to strut the sands. At Bermudez Aesthetic Medicine, Dr. Kenneth Bermudez offers several procedures to get you looking fit—some of the most popular of which are his liposuction procedures. He offers both traditional liposuction as well as VASER LipoSelection®, a minimally invasive procedure that uses sound waves to liquefy fat cells in targeted areas to create a smoother, more sculpted look.

Here are just a few reasons why its not too late to get the body you’ve always wanted this summer with VASER liposuction.

#1: VASER Liposuction Recovery Time is Shorter

While traditional liposuction recovery time can take up to six weeks, the recovery time for VASER liposuction is significantly shorter. Depending on the amount of treated areas, and their size, it typically takes about a week to return to normal daily activities after a VASER liposuction procedure. After two to three weeks, the patient can usually return to strenuous activity. When compared to a traditional liposuction, there is also a lot less pain, swelling, and bruising after a VASER procedure.

#2: You Get a Smoother, More Toned Look…Fast

The VASER liposuction procedure is not used to remove a lot of excess fat, but instead is meant to remove a small amount of targeted fat (like a stomach pooch or saddlebags) while creating a chiseled look. This is done by removing the fat layers and revealing the underlying musculature. In addition, VASER liposuction candidates have good skin elasticity, meaning their skin will retract after the surgery for a firmer, tighter appearance. Although the final effects of a VASER procedure will take about 2-4 months to manifest, most people begin to notice a tighter, fitter tone in the treated area immediately.

#3: Scarring Will Be Barely Noticeable

Because the cannulas (or tubes) used in the VASER procedure are thin, the incisions are typically very small and well hidden. This means a shorter recovery and less noticeable scarring, both of which are ideal for those looking to hit the beach or pool ASAP this summer. Incisions (and the resulting scars) are typically made in places covered up by a bikini, but talk to your doctor before exposing incision sites to the sun, as doing this prematurely can cause discoloration and permanent darkening of the scar or scars. Even after you’re fully healed, try to keep the incisions out of the sun completely and use a high-SPF sunscreen for optimal protection.

#4: It’s Never Too Late to Get Your Dream Body

If you’ve seriously considered VASER for a while and you meet the criteria of a good VASER liposuction candidate, what’s stopping you from getting the body of your dreams? There is no reason to be embarrassed by bulging, jiggling trouble spots, or to sit out on summer activities because of self-consciousness! Contact Dr. Kenneth Bermudez for a liposuction consultation today.
